Aaron: I first discovered Yerba Mate when my friend Trevor ,owner of Mile Method, came to visit us in Austin, Texas. He was coming back from a South America bicycle trip. Wanting to share yerba with us, he went to Wholefoods and bought a large grapefruit that he then cut and used as a gourd for the mate. Taking that first sip and listening to his stories from his trip was so energizing that I was hooked and have been drinking yerba mate ever since.
What are the health benefits of Yerba Mate?
Aaron: Yerba Mate is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It provides a gentle energy boost without the jitters or crash associated with coffee. How do you prepare Yerba Mate?

The water should be around 160°F (70°C) to avoid scalding the leaves. Then, you can enjoy the drink by sipping it through the bombilla.
